I'm extremely suspicious that most of the high rated reviewers only have 1 review on record... Stained sheets, no hot water. Surprised this is even a 2-star hotel. By far the worst place I've ever stayed. It seems as though the it needs to be torn down and rebuilt to get rid of their bedbug problem. The "manager" told us in the morning that they knew about the hot water issues in several rooms. They had more rooms available though, so they knowingly will book you into rooms with no hot water without telling you. They claimed that if we ran the water for at least 10min it would suddenly start being hot, we had it going for 5min and find that very hard to believe. They will also refuse to give you any compensation for the ice cold shower being useless, and generally could not care less about your stay. Was totally blown away about their attitude on the no hot water considering it was a cold autumn night.. "oh, that's just the way those rooms are..". Also, when you're paying for the room they'll take out an additional deposit on your credit card without telling you. Don't annoy them before they reverse it in the morning. We had no idea they took out a deposit until they reversed it when we complained about the water.. that's not how deposits are supposed to work. I would do anything to avoid this place in the future.. I was trying to save $40-50 from the next cheapest hotel, but will never make that mistake again. I really had to focus hard to forget about this scummy place so I could get out and enjoy my time in Jasper in the morning.

The guy at desk was very friendly and hepful. He was very talkative (in a good way), informative and honest, which is the reason I am leaving this hotel 3 stars. He gave me a full refund immediately when I asked for a full refund after finding about the previous bed bug incident.

  • This hotel is awesome! We stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms and the room was amazing. The new hard wood floors are a very nice touch, made it feel like home. Very cozy and boutique-like feel. The hotel is in the centre of town so everything is within walking distance. Friendly staff and great food in Papa George's! Will definitely be returning!

I'd strongly recommend avoiding this place if you can. First, it's called a "Hotel," but fails to meet the quality commonly associated with hotels as opposed to motels or hostels. We were given a tiny room, with a sink placed next to our bed, and shattered glass. They put together two twin beds together to make a king-sized bed. As mentioned in other reviews, the bathroom is extremely tiny, with the toilet and the shower literally one step away from each other. The carpet was filthy. The room was unusually hot and stuffy. Their wifi didn't work. My fiancé found online reviews about previous bed bug outbreaks at this hotel. We had to examine the bed more carefully, and found black dots that looked like beg bug poops on the head board, the mattress, and the pillows. After attempting to sleep in our car instead, we gathered up the courage to confront the hotel staff. The lady came up to our room with us, and did not confirm that any of the black marks or stains were evidence associated with bed bugs. She claimed that "we're not the only hotel with bed bug infestation;" then, offered to switch us to another room. She wasn't very nice about it, though. She pretty much said that the hotel does bed bug inspection regularly, and that we could go find alternative accommodation if we wanted to. Hello, are you giving us a full refund? or providing us with an alternative place to go to? It was already late at night and we didn't have the money or time to find another place to stay the night. The room she switched us to, had a working AC, and we didn't find any black marks or stains. We still slept with no comforters, and even left some light on. For $250 a night, I didn't think I'd be suffering. In their 90 years of operation, I do not know if they ever did any renovation since opening. We had to stay at this place, because they had literally last few rooms available in the town of Jasper. It's too bad that there are limited accommodation options in Jasper. I'm definitely checking out online reviews more thoroughly before I book a hotel room for my next trip. In the end, no bed bug bites or bed bug infestation back home, so I am relieved. If we ended up staying the night at the room they first gave us, I'm not sure what might have happened.
